March 26th, 2007. It was a rare sunny day in London.

This trip was the first time I went to Europe. It started in Germany, led to Sweden, then England, France, and finally, Italy. Unfortunately, I didn’t keep a journal back then.

I was on this trip with my mom and my brother and we spent the day touring the city, from St. Paul’s Cathedral to the London Eye, Big Ben to Westminster Abbey, The Towers of London, and of course, Tower Bridge.

Starting from the top left: St. Paul's Cathedral, View of Big Ben and the Parliament Buildings from the London Eye, Westminster Abbey and the bottom row is all pictures from the Towers of London.

I figured, if I’m going to use the typical subject, I’ll add a little spice to it. Bascule bridges are found all over the world, but Tower Bridge is among the most well-known. The bascules are raised around 1000 times a year. All you need is 24 hour notice and you, too, can steer your boat down the River Thames at no charge.

  1. Good pictures, pity about the no journal thing! I have had the same problem and have tried to write some retrospectively from memory and photographs.
