Dublin's Motion in Transportation

A double decker bus and a cyclist traveling in opposite directions at an intersection near Trinity College.

These past few months have been a whirlwind. I seem incapable of settling in one place for long, so I thought I’d pay tribute to that in my post today.

These shots were both taken in Dublin in February on the evening of my birthday in 2013.

Dublin

Along my travels, I’ve seen and capture much street art, especially on the island of Ireland, both in the Republic of and the Northern area. In Dublin, I took a photograph of this bit of art and I love the way it turned out, with the sharp detail and stark contrast.

Dublin

During my visit to Dublin, Ireland in August 2011, I spent a lot of time walking around with the friends I made in the city. One of the beautiful areas that I especially enjoyed was walking along the River Liffey. You may remember a previous shot I posted for March’s photo-essay: Bridges in Fish-eye. https://dailyjaunt.wordpress.com/2012/03/04/day-11-march-4-2012-bridges-in-fish-eye-dublin/

Today, I stumbled across a photo taken of the

The Jeanie Johnston Tall Ship and Famine Museum near the Samuel Beckett Bridge on the River Liffey in Dublin, Ireland in August of 2011.

. The stark contrast of the sky against the masts stuck me, so I thought I would share!

Bridges in Fish-eye – Dublin

For the first 7 days of each month, I like to do a photo-essay with a theme picked by my audience. This month, it will be bridges in fish-eye. Categorized by city in alphabetical order, we continue in Dublin, (The Republic of) Ireland. This photo is of the Samuel Beckett Bridge which crosses the River Liffey. The shape of the spar and its cables is said to evoke an image of a harp lying on its edge. How much more Irish can you get?!

Don’t forget to have your input on the theme for the month of April! Poll #2 coming March 23rd!
