This shot of the Bellagio fountains in Las Vegas was taken in May of 2012. Even though summer had yet to begin, the heat of the dessert was something I had never experienced before. I found a spot in the shade around the walkway that surrounds the fountain and within a few minutes, the fountains begun their show.
This shot is from the Bellagio side of the man-made lake in front of the casino resort, so what you see in the image is a view of the Las Vegas Strip beyond the water. The fish-eye lens on my camera lets you see the entirety of the massive fountains, but I chose a picture without the monstrous heights that the water climbs to because I felt the water shooting out to where I was standing added a bit more depth to the composition.
