Berlin

While in Berlin, Germany in the summer of 2011, I stopped to photograph Brandenburg on a couple of occasions. This photograph, however, seems to encompass the right feeling. The huge structure seems to devour the sky and the details of the inner panel are accentuation by the stark contrast. It’s making me miss that German sun!

Köln

Köln is a city dear to my heart in the west of Germany. Along with my aunt and an uncle, my mother has quite a few cousins who live in and near the city. In English, people call in Cologne, but I prefer the German spelling! In my most recent visit in the summer of 2011, as usual, I spent a lot of time with my family. I was on a majorly tight schedule, but it was a blast!

I spent a lot of time driving around with my aunt and a couple of my second or third cousins and in the picture I have for you lovely people today, I was blasting through the city’s beautiful center and catching a glimpse of gorgeous architecture all over the place. The picture I chose seemed to capture a beautiful European essence within the cramped street and gloomy sky.

Bridges in Fish-eye – Berlin

For the first 7 days of each month, I like to do a photo-essay with a theme picked by my audience. This month, it will be bridges in fish-eye. Categorized by city in alphabetical order, we continue in Berlin, Germany with another photo of a bridge crossing the Spree River called the Weidendammer Bridge. Fun fact? In German, bridge is brücke.
