Brighton Pier

Brighton Pier - Valentines Day 2013

Upon arriving in Brighton, I ventured a few steps from the bus station and discovered the gorgeous sight found at the pier around sunset. The seagulls were circling from what seemed like every direction, the lights were flashing and the people acted as if like the chilly winds of February on the coast didn’t bother them.

To my loyal followers, I apologize for the delay in getting the first post up since my travels began, but I’ve finally settled a bit and it’s time to start posting again. I hope you are all keeping well in your corner of this globe! This will be a couple of weeks of update until I can muster the courage to keep adventuring to bring you more escapades around the world. Next up should be Europe with my cousin!

Gulf Islands in True Fish Eye

Gulf Islands in True Fish Eye

Upon purchasing a full frame camera, I finally am able to capture the full circle of my fish-eye lens. This particular shot was taken on the ferry between Tsawassen and Swartz Bay (in Sidney, British Columbia which is the terminal closest Victoria, British Columbia). The Gulf Islands of British Columbia are visible in this image, although there are quite a few among the Southern Gulf Islands and I don’t know them as well as I wish I did. They are simply the mass of islands in between the mainland of British Columbia and Vancouver Island and the divide between Northern and Southern seems to be Nanaimo, on Vancouver Island.

My estimation is that Saturna is one of the islands pictured here, but I’m not sure if the other two are North and South Pender or Mayne and Galiano.

In either case, I hope you are enjoying your Tuesday, no matter which land mass you are on!

Hermosa Beach, California

Hermosa Beach, California

This photograph was taken while I was on tour with Warped Tour in 2010. I stopped in California for a few shows in late August and while in the area, I stayed with a relative who lives just a few blocks from the gorgeous sandy beaches of southern California.

Hermosa Beach is a tight-knit beach community in Torrance, California which is a suburb of Los Angeles. My favourite spot was the long boardwalk by the sea where I could whip out my roller skates and glide along the ocean. As much culture as Venice Beach may have, the quiet serenity of Hermosa in the early hours of the morning made me glad to be outside of one of the world’s largest cities, while being mere minutes from the opportunities in the city.

Although, I probably should have stopped roller skating to take this picture. My balance and poise kept me (and my camera) vertical, though!

Stranraer, Scotland

As you may have noticed, I usually don’t include the country in my title, but in this case, it seemed to fit. While traveling, there’s a lot of passing through. Stranraer, Scotand is a town in the southwest of Scotland, right on the coast. I briefly went by the city on my way from Belfast, Ireland to Glasgow, Scotland. There is a ferry, called the Stena Line, which transports passengers from Belfast to Stranraer and from there, I caught a bus to Glasgow. I happened to arrive just in time for a gorgeous sunset, and what with the beautiful weather here at home these days, I’m all about a gorgeous sky!

A gorgeous sunset in Stranraer, Scotland right after I got off a ferry in September 2011.

The Sunshine Coast

Today we visit an island off the coast of British Columbia called the Sunshine Coast. In this post, I want to highlight the coast of the island and the wilderness in the area, which is a part of what this area of the world is known for, as well as being a reason I love it so much!

In some posts, you’ll find a long story, but today, I’ll let the photographs speak for me.

All the above images were taken on the Sunshine Coast, From Gibsons, to Seaschelt, to Pender Harbour.

Here is the photograph of the day, taken in late July of 2010 in Pender Harbour, British Columbia.

And special thanks to Andrew Petcher (apetcher.wordpress.com/) for being the only one to vote on first poll, leading to pictures of bridges in fish-eye for the next week! Watch out for next month’s poll to get your say on what the theme for the first week of April will be!
